Eaton received Crown Grant Dec 18 1869, for Section 27, Black 5 North, Range 7 West, New Westminster District, 160 acres (150-acre military grant). 

In 1866 he was the temporary constable in Richfield, in 1869 he was the recording officer in Cariboo, and a lumberman, on Jervis Inlet, 1877 - 1880?
