Launders received Crown Grant March 14, 1870, for Lot 203, Group 1, New Westminster District, 150-acre military grant.

Engraver and draughtsman with Lands and Works Department, New Westminster and Victoria, 1865-1872, drew Map of British Columbia ("Trutch Map") of 1871.

Still in Victoria, 1876, but died in Nanaimo, March 1878.
