Corporal John Newbury,

Royal Marines Light Infantry

 

Corporal Newbury traveled with the Royal Marine Light Infantry Volunteers from China, arriving in British Columbia in April of 1859.

 Newbury was not one of the Marines sent to the "Seat of War" at San Juan Island on the 1st of August 1859 as it appears that he was in jail.

Queenborough, 2nd August, 1859.
