According to the
Consolidated Pay List for the quarter ending 30th June 1861, 4729 West,
Christopher, received his ordinary pay for a period from the 1st May
1861. It also notes under Soldiers' Remittance for families, that 4729
West, Christopher, sent 3 Pounds sterling of his pay to a Mary Jane
West, Beachum Gate, Bolton, Lancashire.
According to Miss Woodward of UBC Special Collections, 4729 West,
Christopher, received a Crown grant, 30 November, 1870, for Lot 59 Group
2, New Westminster District, 150-acre military grant.
In 1877, he is
either the owner or working in the Merchants Exchange Saloon in
Victoria.
In 1877 Christopher West married Rosina Jane Flewin, daughter of Thomas
and Jane Flewin.
