4th Monday – Head wind as usual.  The play “Our Wife” performed in the evening and afterwards some songs were sung -

Notes: The RE, realizing that the voyage was to be 6 months in length or more, brought along numerous articles to make the voyage pass more easily - paper to make a newspaper, popular sheet music for the RE Band and a variety of play, farces and one-acts.  This one, by John Maddison Morton, one of England's most prolific one-act writers, is fully called "Our Wife; or, The Rose of Amiens".  It's performers were all members of the Detachment.
